Information Services and Study Resources (1) General Library of YGU The General Library has a collection of more than 30,000 books in English, as well as Japanese books, journals, magazines, and newspapers. Students can borrow books by presenting their student ID card. A group study room called the Learning Commons, printers, copiers, desktop computers, and laptops are also available in the building. On the website (/lib/) the following e-resources are also available: E-books Online database Off-campus partial access to the database, extend the loan period for borrowed books and save search history. Log-in user ID: Student ID number Password: lib + Birthdate(MMDD) GAKUNIN GAKUNIN is a federation consisting of academic societies, research institutions, and publishers that publish academic e-resources and the universities that use them. Each participating institution and the users who belong to it can access a wide variety of services from outside the University premises. Log in with your Integrated Authentication ID and password. (2) Language Acquisition Center (LAC) The Language Acquisition Center (LAC) is a facility for learning Japanese and English open weekdays from 9:00 to 17:00, and includes the Reading Center and the Language Media Center. In the Reading Center, materials for developing language skills such as various levels of English and Japanese graded readers, English and Japanese proficiency test textbooks, games for conversation practice, novels, comics, newspapers, magazines, journals, DVDs, employment support books etc. are available. In the Language Media Center, DVDs, CDs, and other digital resources are available for learning to enhance all 4 language skills, and students can get advice about self-directed learning from language advisors. iCLA students may borrow up to a total of 4 books, magazines, discs, and games (except for self-directed support materials) from LAC for 2 weeks upon presentation of their student ID at the counter. During the special borrowing period (long breaks), students may borrow books for a longer period than usual. Equipment such as computers and CD players can be borrowed for use within the library only. Classes and EAE students have priority in using the facility.
